The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of handicraft activity-centered group art therapy on parenting stress of mothers with disabled children. The objects were 16 mothers who raising disabled children in nursery facility in O city. were in experiment group and the others were in control group. The program accomplished 12 times(once a week, 90 minutes) and pre and post tests were conducted, which were Parenting stress Indes/short Form(PSI/SF) developed by Abidin(1983) and Person In The Rain(PITR). Paired T-test was performed by SPSS V.19. The results of this study are as follow; first, there was a significant decrease in patenting stress after handicraft activity-centered group art therapy was conducted. Second, there was a significant difference statistically in before and after test. Therefore, this research showed that handicraft activity-centered group art therapy had positive effect on decline of parenting stress of mothers who rearing disabled children.

The purpose of this work is to analyze how the sex education program using multimedia materials and activity affects the sex knowledge and sex attitudes of children with developmental disabilities who attend a special class in elementary school. The subjects were 10 children with developmental disabilities who were attending a special class in Changwon. The sex education program using multimedia and activity had been applied to the experimental group 24 times over the 12 weeks, and the control group didn't. The results indicated statistically significant differences on the sex knowledge and the sex attitudes of children with developmental disabilities. This study suggests that the prevadence and promotion of the sex education programs using multimedia materials and activity should be focused on in the education field.

This research was designed to evaluate the influences of replacing core subtests with supplementary subtests on composite score reliabilities for the K-WAIS-Ⅳ Indexes. Composite score reliabilities and SEMs are provided for the 13 Index scores calculated following the subtest substitution guidelines of Hwang et al. (2012a). In all instances, unique Index composite score reliabilities were comparable to their respective core Index score composite reliabilities, and measurement error never increased by more than 1 Index point. Using the standard Verbal Comprehension Index and Perceptual Reasoning Index and the unique subtest combinations for the Working Memory and Processing Speed indexes, which have the lowest composite score reliabilities, decreased Full Scale composite reliability by .01, and increased in measurement error of 1 IQ point. I discussed the potential problems and the optimum solutions.

This study aims to look into the effects modelling-oriented art therapy has on attention of ADHD children and whether it is effective for them. The subjects of the study were two ADHD children who are attending to elementary school. To identify the effects of modelling-oriented art therapy program based on ABA design on target behaviors of the subjects, they were observed by a therapist for ten minutes with a use of 10 second partial interval recording. The results were analysed and are presented as follows: Firstly, this study suggested a modelling art therapy program involving its effects on attention of ADHD children and it was discovered that the program had effects on the enhancing the subjects' attention. Secondly, the program's effects on the attention of the subjects were maintained after the program was completed. Therefore, it was concluded that the intervention in the modelling-oriented art therapy program had effects on attention of ADHD children.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of visual perception training program on attention of children with intellectual disabilities. The subjects of the study were children with intellectual disability receiving the integrated education at an elementary school in K region. The criteria for selection was first, diagnosed by a doctor as intellectually disabled, second, received the ‘inferior (70-79)’ level on the Korean Developmental Test of Visual Perception (K-DTVP-2), third, received the score of 50 or lower on the Frankfurt Attention Inventory (FAIR) rating, fourth, is free of visual or hand dysfunction that might hinder the activities in the program, and fifth, obtained the parents’ agreement on participation in the research. The study assigned the visual perception training program with arts activities as the independent variable and attention as the dependent variable. Taking the ABAB design, the baseline (5 sessions) was followed by treatment 1 (10 sessions), return to baseline (6 sessions), and then treatment again (10 sessions). The data was collected by observing the ‘attention behavior’ and ‘distraction behavior’ - taking the operational definition of Hyeyeon Jeon and Seona Yoon (2011) - for 20 minutes per session with partial-interval recording. Measured results was analyzed using the visual analytical method suggested by Tawney and Gast (1984). The visual analysis is composed of the within condition analysis and the between adjacent conditions analysis and the increasing or decreasing trend in data, and the change in trend stability were analyzed by calculating the percentage of overlap. The change in trend stability took the 85% or higher as the standard. As the result, the visual perception training program with activities had positive influence on attention behavior and distraction behavior through activities related to music, art, motion, and game that could arouse interest on their own initiative.

The purposes of this study were to investigate the effects of Prevent (antecedent intervention)-Teach(alternative behavior instruction)-Reinforce (consequence intervention) positive behavioral support program connected with functional assessment on the changes of problem and alternative behaviors in students with intellectual disabilities. Two students with intellectual disabilities in age range from 10 to 12 years who were receiving one-to-one educational training enrolled in a developmental center were participated in this study. An A-B design was employed to evaluate the effects of the positive behavior supports on the students' target behaviors collected by event recording procedures. Results indicated that all participants decreased problem behaviors and increased their use of alternative behaviors following implementation of the P-T-R positive behavior support programs. Such changes which were decreased problem behaviors and were increased alternative behaviors were generalized to the special education teacher. Based on these findings, to promote the spontaneous use of alternative behaviors in students with intellectual disabilities, I discussed educational implications to develop the components of P-T-R positive behavior support programs.

The purpose of this article was to investigate the research trends in Korea and foreign countries of which the main theme was about students with disabilities who were vulnerable to school violence and to identify the variables that influenced victimization of the students with disabilities. According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, a total of 30 articles (5 domestic and 25 international) were selected, and systematically analyzed. The result revealed that the research about students with disabilities who are vulnerable to be bullied had appeared since 2003 in Korea and early 1990s in foreign countries and they were almost survey studies which concerned current status of school violence toward students with disabilities and the related factors. The factors that influence victimization of students with disabilities were vastly divided into individual factors and environmental factors, and these two were again divided into several sub-variables each. Individual variables were divided into demographic characteristics, disability-related factors, and individual experiences. Environmental variables were divided into placement types, social supports, knowledge/information, and others. Finally, the implications of these factors on the prevention and intervention of bullied students with disabilities in school were provided.

This study aimed to figure out a change in the revision of DSM(Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorder) focusing on DSM-5 in order to closely examine a concept of developmental disorder. In this study followings were revealed as the changes in the revision of DSM-5. First, the aim was to arrange the diagnostic criteria based on a little more clinical evidence through establishing ND(Neurodevelopmental Disorder) group. Its characteristics include the abolition of multi-way diagnosis, the introduction of evaluation on severity, an increase to 22 disorder groups from 19 disorder groups, the introduction of dimensional evaluation, and the removal of a name in PDD-NOS(Pervasive Developmental Disorder, not otherwise specified) as a measure of specific inability. Second, a change of disorder name into ASD(Autism Spectrum Disorder) and its criteria are expanded into childhood from the manifestation of symptom before 3 years old. The diagnostic criteria are being suggested by reducing the two diagnostic dimensions along with stereotypic behavior after uniting social interaction and communication into social communication, which is one dimension. Third, the diagnostic criteria of ADHD(Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) are expanded into 12 years old from the age with manifestation before 7 years old. The young and the adult(aged over 17) in extension are being shown to be enough in 5 items of diagnostic criteria.
